#1 Virginia and 3x National Player of the year Ralph Sampson made the trip to Honolulu to play NAIA school Chaminade, for an untelevised game in St. Louis Gym.
When Chaminade pulled off the 77-72 upset, news didn't reach the mainland until Christmas day, and the major news outlets coud hardly believe what they were hearing.
